Signature Yachts, a division of the Gregory Boat Company, was started out of frustration with the price of new boats, and the length of time involved in boat restoration. Many companies are involved in boat restoration but most of them specialize in one aspect of the boat restoration process. At Signature, we can complete all phases of boat restoration at one location, allowing work to progress on several portions of the boat at the same time. This allows the boat to be finished in a more timely manner.

Signature specializes in boats from 38 to 60 feet in length. The price of a new boat in this size category is typically from $225,000 to $1,800,000. Prices this high prevent most from enjoying the luxury and family recreation of a larger boat. At Signature we can bring a 38 foot double cabin to market for around $100,000, which is what a new 30 foot boat of similar styling would cost.

Our most recent boat is a 33 foot Chris Craft Commander with air conditioning, heat and generator. This boat would cost $180,000 dollars new, and we were able to bring it to market for $70,000.

At Signature, boat restoration can apply to any make and model, but the ideal boat in terms of value will be an older model. These boats, such as a 47 Chris Craft Commander or a 53 Hatteras, are beautiful classics, with wood interiors, plenty of windows and solid, thick hulls. With new fuel-efficient diesel engines and updated staterooms and galleys, these boats are better than anything available new today and are a fraction of the cost.

Perhaps the best thing about boat restoration is the ability to customize the boat to the customer's needs and desires. An inexpensive older boat can be customized and modernized into a masterpiece that will serve its owner for many years to come.
